Famous Australian Swimmer Eamon Sullivan Announces Retirement
Australian sprinting star and former world record holder Eamon Sullivan is hanging up his suit. He recently surprised himself and most of Australia swimming by winning the 50 freestyle at Commonwealth Trials despite being plagued by shoulder injuries. Fast forward a few weeks and a few specialists later and Sullivan is retiring on their recommendation.

Hopefully this admission will allow him to move on with his life and overcome the depression and addiction that has recently plagued him. We wish Ian the best and hope that he can come to love himself as much as all his fans do.

Two Matches To Watch This Weekend

Two meets to watch this weekend in the US are the LA Invite beginning on Thursday July 17. All stars are attending in droves with standouts like Missy Franklin, Natalie Coughlin, Caitlin Leverenz, Anthony Ervin, Matt Grevers and Nathan Adrian. This meet will also serve as Japan’s Kosuke Kitajima’s first major comeback competition. The second meet will showcase some young up and comers at Greensboro Sectionals as well as a few pros. Nick Thoman and Chloe Sutton will be making appearances.

Chase Strong Makes Big Splash

Chase Strong is making a big splash all over the country in hundreds of clubs along with hundreds of swimmers. Chase is fighting a battle with a rare type of cancer. His family has created a Go Fund Me page in hopes of raising $100,000 to help with medical bills.
