About Kiefer Swim Products
Our story is a familiar American success story. Kiefer Swim Products was started by Adolph Kiefer in 1947. By that time Adolph had already won the gold medal in the 100M Backstroke at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, broken 14 world swimming records, and taught thousands of Navy seamen how to swim during World War II.
As time went by, Adolph invented many of the products still in use today (racing lanes, rescue tubes, nylon swimwear), started mailing a catalog full of products for aquatic facilities, opened stores and added employees as the company grew.
Today Kiefer is a multifaceted company but still purely focused on serving the aquatic industry. We have expertise in engineering world class products like our custom starting blocks and racing lanes for all levels of aquatic facilities. We serve the lifeguard and aquatic safety and rescue industry with a full line of products that absolutely perform when you most need them to, and we serve the competitive swim business with the products needed to swim at the highest level. Having great products at great prices attracts customers to Kiefer but customers stay with us because of the people at Kiefer. We know that service is a critical component of our success and our people strive to embody that ethos in everything we do.
Our headquarters, distribution and manufacturing center is in Zion, IL which is right on the Illinois, Wisconsin border. Our employees come from both states so we have a healthy Bears – Packers internecine rivalry going on at all times! Adolph Kiefer, now 96 years old and his wife Joyce (also a long time company employee) live a couple miles away and visit us several times a year. Adolph never met a stranger so it doesn’t matter if you are a long time or new employee, Adolph still wants to know what your job is and what you are doing for our customers. Our company history, culture and values underpin our actions and make us the company we are today.
Thank you for your interest in Kiefer Swim Products.
